I cross-shopped the standard Bronco with the stamped deck and the Super Bronco with the fab deck. Rolled the dice on the fab — thicker steel, welded corners, three blades. Zero regrets. Cut is cleaner, deck doesn't ring like a stamped one, and I know this thing will outlast the tractor. 24 HP Kohler is smooth and quiet.

StepThru + cast iron axle sold me over the Cub Cadet
Looked hard at the Cub Cadet XT1 50-in. Similar money, similar V-twin. StepThru frame on the Troy-Bilt won me over — I'm 5'3" and the swing-through is a huge deal. Cast-iron front axle is the other thing — I hit a lot of tree roots and I want that axle to be metal, not plastic bushings.

Cruise control on 2.5 acres is a life changer
Set the cruise at speed 5 and just steer. My right ankle used to be toast after a full mow with pedal-only hydros. With cruise you basically drive it like a car. On a 2.5 acre property this is the difference between mowing being a chore and being relaxing.

Kohler 7000 V-twin doesn't feel like the marketing horsepower some tractors advertise. Full throttle it pulls the 50-in fab deck through anything I've thrown at it — wet spring grass, tall drought grass, thick fall leaves. Never once bogged. Very impressed with this engine.
